| Morocco | In | Sebta (Cueta) | None | "Visa isued at border. Friendly and helpful officials. Very little hassle. Insurance can be purchased at the border. No Carnet required, however you have to fill out a two part form (a temporary import certificate) with your vehicle details. This form is checked and stamped and the top part retained, the second part you must keep and present to the customs when you leave the country. Keep this form safe you will have major problems if you loose it. Note: If you have a CB radio keep it hidden and remove the ariel when entering the country, some travellers have had them confiscated." |
| Morocco | Out | Western Sahara | None | You must present your passport and your temporary vehicle import certificate when you leave. |
| Mauritania | In | Nouadhibou | None officially! | "We were asked for €10 to have our passports stamped, we offered €5 which was accepted. You can change money on the border but you get a much better rate in the banks & a better rate still on the streets. You have to get insurance for Mauritania. About a kilometre from the border post we came to a T-junction where ther was a caravan selling insurance, we paid 4250CFAs for seven days, a rip-off. If you turn left at the junction heading to Nouakchott you will find a local office selling insurance for only 2150CFAs for seven days, but if you get stopped by officials without insurance you can get a hefty fine. The choice is yours." |
| Mauritania | Out | D'Jiama | None officially! | Police friendly but we had to pay €10 to have our passports stamped. |
| Senegal | In | D'Jiama | "Although this border crossing has a reputation for taking ""baksheesh"" it is far less hassle and a lot less expensive than ROSSO. We paid €10 to have our carnet stamped and €10 to have the passports stamped plus €5 to get the barrier lifted in order to cross the bridge. However we were on our way within 30mins. We heard of some who had argued over the ""costs"" they waited a full day and still had to pay! We have also heard that one couple crossing at Rosso had to pay over €250!" | |

| Senegal | Out | Karang | None | "Friendly and quick, unlike our entry into Senegal. Why can't all the borders in a country be the same?" |
| The Gambia | In | Karang | "Friendly enough and resonable quick. Our Landy was given a quick search, I think the officals were looking for presents! As everyone we spoke to seemed to want something. In the end we gave nothing saying we would see what we had when we returned! Then continued through the border with no more problems." | |
