Thanks to the following who we met along the way:
Rudi & Mirella We met Rudi & Mirella just south of Tan Tan, Morocco. They are building a house in Senegal and were returning from a trip to Spain. We travelled with them to their house where we stayed for a week. We had a great time. Thanks to you both for your hospitality, we look forward to seeing you again on our return through Senegal.
Betty & Daniel LeBlanc
We met Betty & Daniel in L'Oasis camping in Casablanca. A French couple returning from Mauritania in a very well equipped Toyota Land Cruiser. A great couple, well travelled and good fun. We will keep in touch and hope to meet up again in the future. Happy travels to you both.
Frank Van Rijn
Having met Frank briefly in St Louis, Senegal we bumped into him again in The Gambia. We spent a few days with him while relaxing in the Sukuta campsite. At 58 Frank has cycled around most of the world from his home in Holland. Frank has written 9 books and given many slide shows of his global adventures. he is a well known figure in Holland. Long may you continue your travels Frank, it was a pleasure to meet you.
Alain & Rose-marie
We had just arrived in the Dars Salam campment in Senegal and had started to set up camp when Alain & Rosemarie pulled in beside us. They were taking a last overland trip through West Africa, a trip following almost the same route that we had decided on. Having shared a huge leg of mutton BBQ'd to perfection, together with several glasses of red wine we became good friends. Alain & Rosemarie have been travelling through Africa for over twenty years and naturally have a wealth of experience, experience that was obvious from the way their Mercedes G-Wagon was set up. In the end we spent two very enjoyable months together during which we learnt a great deal from this lovely French couple. Thank you both we had a great time travelling with you and know we will share some more experiences together.
